As on every first Wednesday of each month, on June 6th, was carried out the Playa Ventanas cleanup, organized by Comité Bandera Azul Playa Ventanas and Playa Tortuga, ASADA Ojochal and Reserva Playa Tortuga. In a special way, this day the Bandera Azul Ecológica was also hoisted and World Oceans Day was commemorated, together with neighbors and students from the area.
One of the members of the reserve, Graciela, wanted to share their thoughts on this activity:
“Today, the Playa Ventanas community is celebrating because everyone’s effort is materialized; more than a year working on the Bandera Azul program has its fruit. This flag that today indicates to the visitors of our beach that we are organized for the well-being of our natural spaces is a symbol, but the work still does not end, we continue to find plastic, there is still much to do!
The commitment is to keep this award and every first Wednesday of every month continue to meet at our Playa Ventanas to do the monthly cleaning as well as continue the training to the members of the community for each day to be better for our nature as well as it gives the best of itself for us.
From Reserva Playa Tortuga we are happy to be part of this achievement and we invite you to join because every hand counts!
Pura Vida and we go for 2018. “
We thank those who organized this activity:
Comité Bandera Azul Playa Ventanas, Comité Bandera Azul Playa Tortuga, Comité Bandera Azul Comunidad, ASADA Ojochal and Reserva Playa Tortuga.
And to those who participated: students from Punta Mala School and Ballena School, and the community in general.
